Fiftth Milestone
Now in its fifth year, 2026, ACSD continues to grow beyond expectations. Expanding internationally, the event will take place in Belgium alongside its London celebration, reaching new communities and raising even more funds to support charitable causes.
Forth Milestone
In its fourth year, ACSD went public with a larger committee and a stronger presence, launching Instagram and TikTok and hosting its first meet-and-greet. The event experience was elevated with personalised kits, sports massage, and improved catering. With sponsors like Yemoir and Connect Function, and a partnership with the Sickle Cell Fighting Club, the event raised £2,000 and attracted over 120 attendees.
Third Milestone
The third Sports Day on 13th July 2024 welcomed over 70 participants and introduced key partnerships, including Miss Nigeria UK. This year also featured the first after-party celebration and led to the formation of an official committee, signalling a shift towards a more structured and scalable event.
Second Milestone
The second event, held on 1st July 2023, was entirely planned by Alicia. Growing to over 65 participants, the event gained traction and expanded its impact, raising funds for the orphanage and establishing itself as an annual community event.
First Milestone
ACSD hosted its very first Sports Day on 25th June 2022, created to celebrate Alicia’s birthday in a more meaningful way. After experiencing repeated sickle cell crises around her birthday, Alicia chose to honour it through her love of athletics while raising funds for her mum’s orphanage. With just 50 family and friends attending, this intimate event marked the beginning of something much bigger.
